Speaker Information Sheet

Tilton-Northfield Rotary Club

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to speak at one of our weekly club meetings. We hope the information on this sheet will help you better understand our speaking arrangements.

Location: The T-N Rotary Club meets at the Lochmere Country Club (approx. 2 miles east on Route 3 after taking exit 20 off I-93).

Time: Wednesdays at 12:15 PM. You are welcome to come 15 minutes early to set up.

Agenda: The meeting begins at 12:15 with the Pledge of Allegiance and an invocation. We introduce guests and visitors, update the club with news & committee reports, and then introduce the main speaker (you).  You will have approximately 15-20 minutes to speak. If you need a little more time, we can have a question/answer period while eating lunch. Your lunch is provided by the Rotary club — it’s the least we can do!

Equipment: If you need audio/video or other special equipment, please notify your Rotary contact or Joe LaPlante (W: 603-545-3013, H: 603-934-4235).

Our Club History: Our club was chartered in 1928. We have approximately 26 members. Our member backgrounds are varied, but in general we are business people from the Tilton, Northfield, Sanbornton area. While our club may be small in number, we are big in heart. We hold two major fundraisers each year in order to provide services to our community. We provide scholarship money for students attending college or vocational schools, provide a fall foliage tour for senior citizens, hold a fishing derby for area youth, and provide food baskets and gifts at Christmas to name just a few of our regular programs. We have also helped our local library raise money for a well needed addition and have pledged money to build a fishing pier at the new Riverfront Park in Tilton.

Rotary: Founded in 1905 by Paul Harris, Rotary is the world’s first service organization.  There are now over 32,000 clubs in 166 countries consisting of more than 1.2 million Rotarians.  Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.  The Rotary motto is “Service Above Self.”  Rotary clubs are non-religious, non-governmental, non-political and open to every race, culture and creed.
